Japan is a mysterious, unusual country with a unique culture and centuries-old traditions. Once there, it seems to you that you are on another planet. Traveling to the future and past at the same time. The land of the rising sun is like a closed box, from which you really want to find the key. Zen Buddhism, practiced by the Japanese aristocracy, introduced into Japanese culture a special attitude towards nature and events in life. In Japanese culture there is a concept - “yugen”. This is the “elusive charm” or “hidden beauty” of something short-lived and passing. Contemplation, penetration into the essence of things or phenomena, “discovery” of the inner beauty of something, “hiding” behind its outer shell.

The “Japan” scarf is the artist’s attempt to capture that very yugen - you can leisurely look at ancient temples, imperial palaces, contemplate sakura and red maples. And of course, all this action will take place in the ancient city of Kyoto Museum.
